Good Customer Service – You’re Got To Be Kidding!

Before we get going just a short note to say that the following is based upon my experience with internet marketing guru’s and does not reflect the experience that you may encounter. So, well let’s get straight to it, the reason why I am writing this post is because I am getting fed up with all the promises the marketing guru’s make but just do not deliver, and guys I am going to name names here.

I’m sorry if this upsets some of you as some of these people maybe your best friend and you may have made some online profits by using their products, but this stuff needs to be out there. Now I know that it’s not good to be negative and I do not like to really slag people off in general as we say in the UK but some thing has got to give! What I am about to say may ruin my reputation in terms of doing future Joint Venture deals with Internet marketing gurus but hey, so be it….

As far as I am concerned I will not recommend any product or marketing tips to my subscribers that just does not deliver, as I am in this for the long-term. Wether its about seo and website design or any guru promoting web businesses. Especially when it comes to customer service. My number one gripe is customer service or lack of it from marketing gurus. As a Brit from England we are not really use to good service in general as we do not always complain and nothing seems to change. Well no surprise there then…… We don’t have many marketing gurus.

Trust Internet Marketing Gurus

But I expected a lot more from you marketing guru’s out in the good old USA. American companies are usually known for their customer service and it seems to be part of your culture, or at least I thought so. Many of the Internet marketing gurus will tell you that “well there’s no money in customer service” Well that’s plainly WRONG!

One of the marketing gurus you can trust!

Well let’s start off with a positive story I recently purchased the Affiliate Jet Packs product from Mark Ling. During the guarantee period I contacted his customer service with a question and got a very quick response that fully answered my query. After the guarantee period I asked another question that was promptly answered again. But this time I did not write back to them to confirm that my problem had been solved.

And here’s the great customer service part, they contacted me a day later and asked if my problem had been sorted out. I did not reply for a few days and they contacted me again to ensure that it had been. In other words they were actually concerned that there was no longer a problem. They actually seemed to care! This is great sign that Mark is not one of those typical marketing gurus and you may actually make an online profit with one of his products!

Now that’s a great true story and do you think that I will ever buy another product from Mark, well of course I would. But Guys here’s the thing, Mark is not one of those American marketing gurus he is from Australia. Duh! As Mr Simpson would say. So can you ever trust one of those marketing gurus, well yes there are a few.

The Top Internet Marketing Gurus in my opinion.

• John Reese
I have purchased two products from John and both delivered. Also his recommendations are reliable. This man is sincere and can be trusted. If you read the Hi Ho Silver Guru Away! post you know John is one of the first Marketers that got me interested in Internet Marketing. He is the king of the marketing gurus.

• Frank Kern
Good old Frank, he is a bit scruffy, weird and blaspheme’s a lot, (he will probably like that statement!) sorry Frank, but hell, he delivers. You will either love or hate Frank if only all marketing gurus were like Frank!

• Andy Jenkins
Andy is a video and SEO guy from another good crowd at Stompernet and he delivers. This guy really knows his stuff and is a likable chap. Andy is king of video marketing gurus.

• Mike Filsame or Panda Guy as I call him….. sorry Mike
Mike is a great guy, but when you buy a product from him there will be up sells, down sells, cross sells etc, etc but his customer service is good and he is a one of the good guys. Mike is king of the upsell marketing gurus.

• Sean Donahue
Sean is a Brit but he lives in the USA so that counts i guess, but more to the point Sean always over delivers and you will not be disappointed with his stuff. So if you want to make money on the web Check him out here

This good old boy is one of the marketing gurus from the South and he always delivers; I have bought two products from him and learnt some new stuff I did not know.

Marketing Gurus - Summary

Phew! Well that’s off my chest now… need to clam down. You know all this is really disappointing as I did not really want to have to go as far and put all this griping out there. I just wanted the bad boys stuff to actually work as they said it would and wanted to be able to shout to the World Hey! This stuff works!

Well there is lot more bad boy names that I could mention but that’s enough for now.

A Quick Tip when Buying
There is one thing you should always bear in mind. When you are considering buying a product from one of the Guru’s.

Always go with your gut instinct. If you see them on a sales video and it just seems too slick, too contrived or just does not feel right to you… Well then it’s probably just not right for you.

Let me give you an example. I am sorry to say that I recently bought a software product from one of those bent british marketing gurus and the guy just looked well, what we call smarmy in the UK, just too clever for his own good. Just a smart arse you would say. I bought the product but refunded within the same day, as it was crap!

Another product was actually against the terms and conditions when advertising on Facebook, well that’s a good long-term strategy then, NOT!! this guy is one of those marketing gurus you should avoid at all costs

As I said in the beginning this is my experience, you may get something different. So the question is, will you get good customer service from the marketing gurus ?…..

Well some of them, even the American ones. Just kidding guys……

I have been to the US quite a few times so don’t get upset with me as I really like the American way of life and even you yanks… again just kidding. Yes even some internet marketing gurus!

But just be careful of those marketing gurus out there!!

Email marketing is crucial to your online business if you want to have a long term sustainable stable income. However, a lot of marketeers are finding it hard to make it work for them. There is No Eye Catching “Grabber” in The Title

Email marketing messages work best when based on the same marketing principles that have been applied to things like magazine and newspaper ads for decades now. One of the first rule’s of that type of advertising is to have something that grabs the reader’s attention. Since emails are so easy to close and delete, or even ignore, there needs to be a good attention getting grabber headline at the start. This could be an appealing graphic and a headline, as well as positive buzz words that jump off the page like “Free”, “Limited Time” or ask a question to the recipient.

The Message Being Sent is Poorly Constructed

A poorly written message fails for a lot of reasons. The first reason is the obvious one, and that’s to do with the fact that people just don’t want to or are unable to read something with bad grammar and spelling. A poorly written message may also be hard to understand what is being promoted is all about. Another reason for a poorly written email marketing message to fail, is that it suggests the person and offer are a bit shady, which in turn makes it hard for the potential customer to know, like and trust.

The Intent of the Message Isn’t Clear

This is different than a poorly written message. Often the information can be very cleanly written yet still have an unclear intent. Is the purpose of the message to get someone to visit your store or your website? Is the purpose to get them to buy something immediately while it’s on sale? Maybe the message is just there because you want to create or maintain a relationship with your clients. In the first three seconds of seeing your email, the recipient should know exactly which of those things you are aiming to accomplish.

Your Message is Being Blocked by Spam

This happens far too often. Spam blockers are getting a lot more effective but they are unfortunately prone to picking on the wrong emails. Even though your recipient may be willing to get your email, their email software might not be aware of that. The spam blocker may pick out your message for a lot of reasons. The best thing to do is look into some of the things that spam blockers look for and then insure your message doesn’t include those. Also, it’s a good idea to direct customers to put you on their safe list as soon as you receive their email address

The Money Is In Your List – Wrong!

This is one of the most commonly used terms on the Internet Marketing World, but the money in not in your list its in other peoples list. What do i mean by that? Well imagine if you had your own product and could get other people to promote it to their lists? That would give you a much larger audince to target.

My first interest in internet marketing began in 2006 when I had been in my new job for some 14 months when the company started a head count efficiency drive as they were being put up for sale. They wanted to make the sale as lucrative as possible. Great I thought, I have only been here a short time and it’s all change again! Looks like I will be out the door. Fortunately, it did not affect me but it really made me think I cannot go through that again or it could be me next time. I was especially lucky as my job allowed me to work from home a lot between spells of 12-hour days. While it was good, well-paid job the project I was working on did not have backing from the most senior people in the company.

Some years previously I had been an agency worker job before this and had set up my own Ltd Company  and was used to working for myself and thought that I had all this time and could do something to earn some more money. So I set to searching for something, I did consider MLM as I had tried it in the past but I remembered all the hassle of commercialising my friends and family relationships and a lot of those people are not always the most positive or supportive as I wanted them to be.

It just did not work for me despite putting in a lot of work and arranging meetings including doing my first presentations in front of 50-70 complete strangers. I do not know where I got the courage from to stand up there and present, as I am quite a quiet person. I think it was from my dear old mum, she was a strong willed woman, thanks Mum! RIP

Still I guess it shows what you can do if you really want success badly enough and I did felt that I was helping other people to be successful.
Why am I telling all this? Because I hope that will come to know and trust me as I am not going to give you some sob story about how I went from rags to riches as, just the truth from my reports.

Well probably like you, I have tried a number of things in the past to make money and they have not really worked very well. I must I tried 5 different MLM programmes. Most recently in 2006 I had a go at the Global domains program but failed miserably. Quite possibly because who would want to spend $10 a month for web hosting when you can get hosting for around $5 a month?

Well let’s move onto something more positive, I had all this time on my hands and started to look at the Internet for something. I came across loads of what looked like scams- make money from EBay; Earn a million dollars on line in your under pants; You know the sort of thing. I think that one of them was ED Gold or something. Well while I was tempted I did not go for it as it seemed it was just too good to be true – Maybe it is ok, but it’s not for me.

I came across some adverts in Google about how to make money and one of them was called the Ultimate Money Package. It was all about Internet marketing and came with one of those free web sites. But it was one of those sub domain sites that had little chance of being found by someone searching for info on the net. They did offer an upgrade to their hosting account and domain name service. But I did not take it up at the time, as I did not understand all this stuff.

Anyhow I bought the product as it came with around 100 off e-books and MP3’s all for $69. This was quite a sizeable product and I started to read through the e-books but thought this is all too much and cannot work! I had not listened to the MP3 audios and the money back guarantee period was fast running out and so I asked for and got a refund.

I had downloaded all this info onto my PC and did come back to it and actually began to listen to the audio files. I later learnt that the info was quite old in Internet terms; they were originally made back in 2004/5. Apparently 3 months on the Internet is the same as a whole year!

Anyway the audios were interviews with successful people who had made money on the Internet and were being interviewed by a lady called Becky Hagle for the 3 C workshop. I had never heard of the “Guru’s” before and to a Brit like myself they did have some strange names like Yanik Silver? I thought to myself Hi Ho Silver and Guru Away! Sorry Yanik, just kidding.

After copying the audios onto CD’s I listened to all the interviews on my way to and from work and as the weeks went by I though this stuff could just work. One of the interviews that stood out for me was with a bloke called John Reese (guy in American language).
He seemed to particularly open and honestly wanted to help people make money online. There was also an interview with Joel Comm, another strange name I thought!

He spoke about how to make money with this thing called Adsense. By the time I had listened to all the MP3’s I felt guilty about getting that refund, even though this info was old it still provided me with all the fundamentals that have not changed and there was clearly some value in it for me. Sorry u guys!

If this info really wetted my appetite for making money online and set me on this journey that I will share with you in this blog.
When I first started researching into making money online I decide to put up a group of content sites and makes load of money with Adsense advertising. I looked various products and chose Joel Comms Adsense template Your Own Internet Business in a box product, as he was the Adsense Expert.

I like aviation and thought that I would put up a few sites on the subject, maybe one of them about learning to fly, Aeronautical engineering and other stuff.

I bought his product but my next problem was that I needed some sort of web editing software, but as I a not a techie I wanted something that was easy to use. I had heard about Dreamweaver and thought that that was far too hard for me to get into. I then came across some soft ware called HyperVRE that seemed to be ok but in the end I chose a product called Xsite pro. Both of these products were featured in the Template product and seemed to be very good but I just favoured Xsite pro.

 Well I set up a site about Helicopters, as that was one of the templates in Joel’s product and it had some pre written content. Although I later learnt that this is really only really meant to get you going in writing your own unique quality content this is required that the search engines love. As other people had purchased the same product many thousands as I have learnt all of that professionally produced content would be duplicate and would not help with what’s called Google page rank for the search engines.

I did rewrite that articles and set back and waited for the $$ to roll in. Well after a year later I made the grand total of waiting for it! Dah Diddly Dah …… $5. Yes you got it right $5 whole dollars. Obviously pathetic as I had spent money on the templates, hosting and domain name.

What can i do for You
However, the good thing here is that you can learn by my mistakes. Next I thought that I would set up a site and find a niche product and use the entire Internet marketing techniques to promote it. But all of the information in IM just seemed to be about making money online products and not suited for any particular niche.

I was about to give up when it hit me as they say when I actually got down to work and started to make it happen for me. It’s now 2009 and I have done alot research and have now spent over $12000 on products from different people and am in a position to provide info and recommend the best products and service online that I have found that would actually benefit other people.

Why would I do this you ask?
Well quite simply this is now how I am earning my living, no surprise there you say!

And other people would find value and would save time and money not making all the mistakes I made having to endlessly search for the “Good Stuff” out there among all the crap, (sorry noise).

What is all this stuff?
When I started looking for products to buy I found numerous e-books being sold on everything from PPC, SEO, Email Marketing, Affiliate marketing, JV’s, List Building, testing and tracking, Copywriting and so on. It was just a mesmerising.

I thought, do I really need to know all this…….?
Well yes i did need to know all of it and you may need to know some or all of it to make money on the web.

I am looking for ways to make money online without the hassle, and the possiblity of being scamed. I heard and saw boges websites those that ask for your credit card number I don’t get into them website. so what ways can make online without a highschool deploma.

If you want to work online from your computer at home, you are probably going to have to do it as a business owner, rather than as an employee. There are no online work-at-home "jobs".

When you apply for a job offline, in the bricks and mortar world, do you have to pay anything? Of course not. It should be the same in the online world. If you are asked to pay any money, at best, it is a business opportunity, but more likely it is just a scam.

Be very careful that you don’t get scammed.

I do affiliate marketing online. I’ve been doing it for a year and I’m getting ready to quit my regular job, as I am now making over $10k per month. It takes dedicated work, at minimum a small amount of initial working capital, decent organizational skills, and persistence, but you can make a living at it if you stick with it.

But that is a business. And businesses require lots of work.

If you want something easy, with no investment, you could probably make $500 to $1000 per month getting paid by companies to write postings on blogs about their products. That’s about the only legitimate way that I know of to earn money online without any investment.

After surfing the web for making money sites, I’m very confused. What is the best way to make money online today? I have a lot of time that I can focus on making money but where do I go?

The best way to make money is to get a real job. You are not going to make money online period. You can lose money online if you believe in all the work at home scams.

If you want to make money get dressed and go out and get a job. You will not earn money sitting at your computer.

Doesn’t have to be a lot. Maybe 50-75 bucks. And I don’t mean on Ebay or selling anything. I mean purely come online, sit down and make money.

I know that a lot of survey sites want you to fill in your phone, address, etc to other sites. I don’t mind giving it to the company thats paying me to fill out surverys but I dont want to be receiving a bunch of junk in the mail and email from these other sites.
